African Women in Media is an international NGO working towards gender equality in and through media. This 8th AWiM conference brings together industry experts, academics, csos and policy actors to discuss media sustainability from three key perspectives: Media business and financial models; media and development goals, and Media and emerging technologies of artificial intelligence

Akinbobola is an award-winning journalist, academic, and co-founder of AWiM. Yemisi holds a PhD in Media and Cultural Studies and has published scholarly research on women’s rights, African feminism, and journalism practice. In 2021 she was recognised as one of 100 Most Influential African Women.

Bamidele is a gender and development expert with more than 10 years of experience leading capacity-building and advocacy initiatives that place women's empowerment at their core. As co-founder and COO for AWiM, Bamidele oversees the organisation’s operations.
