Dr. Lydia T. Chibwe is a dedicated advocate for women's rights, currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Project Officer at the Women's Rights Unit within the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria. Alongside her academic pursuits, Lydia contributes as a volunteer Research Fellow at Make Every Woman Count(MEWC). With a strong commitment to addressing women's rights issues in Africa, Lydia has previously collaborated with Sister Namibia, further deepening her engagement in the field.Lydia's research focuses on the intersection of women's rights, older persons, and migration, exploring critical issues that affect communities across the continent. Her work not only contributes to academic discourse but also informs policy and advocacy efforts aimed at advancing gender equality and social justice in Africa.
