Obioma Okonkwo is a human and digital rights activist. She currently serves as the head of the legal department at Media Rights Agenda and is an Advisory Board member of the Digital Democracy Initiative, a joint initiative of the European Union and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs focused on promoting inclusive democracy and safeguarding human rights in the digital era. Obioma holds the role of Media Viability Ambassador for Deutsche Welle and is a fellow of the Open Internet for Democracy Leadership Programme. A qualified lawyer by profession, her expertise lies in advocacy, research interventions, training, and litigation pertaining to media freedom, freedom of expression, access to information, and digital rights issues across Africa and globally.
