Dr Irmgarda Kasinskaite-Buddeberg
Advisor for Communication and Information, UNESCO
Ms Irmgarda Kasinskaite-Buddeberg is Advisor for Communication and Information working at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France. Since 2002, she has held various positions at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), working with other UN system entities, intergovernmental organizations, research, civil society, and public-private sector partners. She currently leads the development and implementation of a wide range of initiatives in the field of media development, pluralism, and diversity. Prior to joining UNESCO, she worked at the Ministry of Public Administration Reforms and Local Authorities, The Government of Lithuania. She has also lectured at the International Centre for Knowledge Economy and Knowledge Management and has also been associated with a number of the media, public relations and advertising agencies in Lithuania. Dr Kasinskaite-Buddeberg holds a Ph.D. in Communication and Information and a Master’s degree in Information Management from Vilnius University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vilnius Academy of Arts, Lithuania. She has been a visiting researcher at Lund University (Sweden), the University of Helsinki and the Alvar Aalto Helsinki University of Technology (Finland).
