Aïssatou Fofana is a journalist and media entrepreneur from Côte d’Ivoire, based in Abidjan. Communications specialist, blogger, and freelance journalist with a strong background in environmental journalism, she is the Francophone Africa Editorial Assistant for the Global Investigative Journalism Network and co-founder of the online media, L’écologiste, set to amplify environmental information. As an African Union Media Fellow, she recently produced a documentary about women in mining, a film showcasing how women thrive despite all the challenges in this predominantly male, and highly strategic sector.
