Dinesh Balliah is the director of the Centre for Journalism at Wits University with over two decades experience in teaching, training, supervising and researching. She is presently a board member of the Ground Truth Project and the VoWFM community radio station. She previously served as the deputy public advocate of the Press Council of South Africa was chair of the Board of the Health-e news organisation, and served as the Risk and Ethics committee chair on the Board of the Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg. She teaches and researches in the areas of journalism practice, ethics, law and histories.
