Dr Omega Douglas

Omega Douglas is Lecturer in the Media, Communications and Cultural Studies Department at Goldsmiths, University of London, where she convenes the BA in Journalism. She is co-author of Journalism, Culture and Society (Routledge), and is currently working on another book for Routledge: The Racial Dynamics of Reporting Africa: Colonial and Decolonial Practices in Mainstream Western News. Her research interests are race, representation, media diversity and the role of diasporic communities, as well as international institutions, such as INGOs, in global communications. Prior to working in academia, she practised as a journalist and editor for various British media organisations.
