Lindiwe Mugabe

Programme Specialist EVAW, African Union Commission
Lindiwe Mugabe is a Programme Specialist for EVAW, providing Technical Support to African Union Commission’s Women, Gender and Youth Directorate. Lindiwe has over 17 years of work experience in development with a specialization in gender equality and women’s empowerment, including experience with EVAW and HIV programming, policy development and analysis, gender statistics, gender responsive budgeting and working with civil society organisations, interfaith and traditional leaders and marginalised groups. She has managed programmes for UN Women in Zimbabwe and in the Liaison Office to the AU; the Zimbabwe Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) Gender Statistics Section and the Zimbabwe Women’s Resource Centre and Network (ZWRCN) Gender & HIV; Gender, Economic Policies and Public Finance; and Gender & Information portfolios, supporting both local and national Government entities. Beyond her professional work, Lindiwe is a member of the Zimbabwe Feminist Forum and Toastmasters International.
