Meriyem Kokaina is a passionate advocate for African literature and culture. She is the founder of "Au Pays du Baobab," the largest French-speaking community of African literature enthusiasts, with over 20,000 followers on social media. Meriyem's dedication to African narratives is evident in her podcast "La psychologie du personnage," where she explores characters in African literature as a material to talk about mental health. Her involvement in major literary events, like the African Book Fair in Paris, also underscores her commitment to strengthening the African literary ecosystem. As a member of the African Union Media Fellowship, Meriyem enhances the visibility of African culture and literature. She is particularly focused on supporting African authors through editorial assistance and writing workshops, helping them tell their own stories and create a new African narrative. Through her upcoming bilingual digital magazine, SANU, Meriyem aims to provide comprehensive Pan-African coverage of literature and culture, collaborating with cultural journalists across the continent. Her mission is to democratize the learning of African history and culture and to foster a united and prosperous Africa.
