Christina Meetoo

Senior Lecturer, University of Mauritius
Christina Chan-Meetoo is a Senior Lecturer in Media and Communication and Head of the Mediacom Studio which she has set up under the aegis of the UNESCO agency IPDC at the University of Mauritius. She has published on press freedom and media regulation, new media and gender-sensitive reporting. She is the editor of three books: ‘Kaya ant sime lamizer ek sime lalimier’ in Mauritian Creole (2020), ‘Media Ethics and Regulation: Insights from Africa’ (2013) and ‘Enhancing Democratic Systems: The Media in Mauritius’ (2011). She is a scientific collaborator on the Mauritian Creole Dictionary (2019) and the Rodriguan Creole Dictionary (2021) and is a member of the Creole Speaking Union and of the African Journalism Education Network.
