Phathiswa Magopeni

Board Director, South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC)
Phathiswa Magopeni is an academic, journalist and business executive with over two decades of strategic and editorial leadership experience. She is an SABC Board Director. She has held executive roles including Editor-in-Chief for SABC News and Chief Operations Officer at Bhekisisa Centre for Health Journalism. She lectured at University of the Western Cape and University of Cape Town. She holds memberships with the Institute of Directors South Africa, World Editors Forum and South African National Editors Forum. Her qualifications include an MPhil ed. from UWC and an MBA from GIBS, University of Pretoria, where she is completing her doctoral studies.
